The BEST Hot Fudge Sauce

I apologize in advance for the quality of these photos. I wasn't actually planning on making this recipe its own separate post but after tasting this fudge sauce I realized I needed to post it alone. I grabbed my camera and snapped a couple quick pictures, not really focusing on quality.

But it doesn't even matter. This recipe is too good not to share. This is, honest to god, the BEST hot fudge sauce I have EVER tasted!! It's so chocolatey good, but it also doesn't harden or go solid when you put it on ice cream.

There are very few ice creams that don't benefit from a good hot fudge sauce, and this is definitely my new go-to recipe for it! Hope you all enjoy it as much as I do!

Homemade Hot Fudge Sauce
Cook Time: 10mins           Yields: 2.5 cups of sauce

Ingredients:
2/3 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup light corn syrup
1/3 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup cocoa
1/4 tsp sea salt
6 oz bittersweet chocolate, chopped and divided
2 Tbsps unsalted butter
1 tsp vanilla extract

Directions
1) In a medium saucepan over medium-high heat, combine cream, corn syrup, brown sugar, cocoa, salt, and half of the chocolate. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to a simmer and cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
2) Remove from heat and stir in remaining chocolate, butter and vanilla until melted and combined.
3) Let cool for 20-30 minutes, during which time the sauce will thicken. Fudge sauce can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge. To use, heat in the microwave for 30 second intervals until it is pourable but still thick.

    1. It'll harden up, but if you heat it in the microwave for a few seconds, you can soften it to a pourable consistency again!
